It’s gratifying to see how the local newspapers in our communities are really getting behind the Early Education and Care Awards, with positive media about some of the individuals and teams nominated in this years’ Award process – commenting on the dedicated work and long hours put in by the staff who care for our littlest Australian children.
Recent nominees include the team from Sutherland Street Out of Hours Care Kilmore, in regional Victoria. Erin Gray and Lisa Hickinbotham have both been nominated in the Educator of the year category, bringing a range of skills to their daily time with the children. Erin has been highlighted for her leadership skills, and Lisa for her transitioning of the kindergarten children to school readiness.
Nambour Christian College Early Learning Centre, Queensland has been nominated in the Service category. Director Rosalie Beach is thrilled...and intrigued as the team were nominated by a “mystery” fan – surely one of the many parents who see the good work done each and every day by Rosalie’s team.
In NSW, the staff of Rainbow Station Early Education Centre, Casino are clearly well regarded by their parent community as the team have been nominated across several categories! Jacqueline Taylor has been nominated in the Director category, Caroline Irwin as Educator of the Year and Jayde Darr as Rising Star, the category for those young educators (under 25 years) at the beginning of their careers.
So hip hip hooray for all those nominated – we wish you the best of luck. And don’t forget it’s not too late to nominate.
Tell us more about your heroes, the ones who keep sane the working parents of Australia
